It’s been quite a while since I’ve been able to blog! This Fall season turned out to be absolutely bonkers—in the best way! So many awesome couples! I just finished my "season closer” wedding and I couldn’t be more honored to say that it was Amy & Charlie’s.

I met Amy several years ago when we both lived in the D.C. area and she did a portrait session with me at my studio in Leesburg. Last year she reached out to me letting me know she happy to see I had moved to Colorado because she was now engaged and they were in the middle of moving here, too! In the time since they moved here we’ve done an engagement session, an anniversary session (celebrating their first date) and finally, their wedding on November 9th! While, they chose to have the wedding back closer to their family in Virginia, they chose a gorgeous mountain venue (Montfair Resort Farm) in the Charlottesville area. I was more than happy to hop a plane to be there and photograph for them.

These two worked so hard to create a beautiful and enjoyable day for their friends and family. Amy’s attention to detail was unparalleled and the vision she created in the reception was nothing short of breathtaking with all the greenery and candles…not to mention all the custom made details like the wooden lanterns, custom wooden name plates at each seat, anniversary wine box, and little wooden mountain favors that aren’t just adorable, they double as a cute photo holder!

The day turned out to be beautiful—albeit on the cold side with a rare early November cold snap. However, their planning and their celebratory spirits kept everyone warm and cozy with hot apple cider and blankets at the ceremony, a roaring fire in the fireplace of the reception, and getting everyone to shake it on the dance floor into the late hours of the night. The love they have for each other and their friends and family radiated into everyone. I could not have been happier to have been a part of such a magical day.
