Hey everyone!
Well, it finally happened. After seven years of blogging on another platform, that platform has gone belly up—or I can only suppose it has as after repeated attempts for multiple weeks to log in have be thwarted and no one in support has bothered to return my repeated online help chats or emails. It’s quite disappointing to spend the better part of a decade working on something only to have it disappear in a blink. It’s even more disappointing it wasn’t on a platform that was transferable to any other current platform so there isn’t much else I can do at this point except accept it and move forward!
So dear readers, as you look around and wonder why I don’t have much of a blog built up for being in business since 2006, this is the reason! I appreciate your understanding and support and I’m looking forward to recreating iconic posts from all the years of amazing weddings I’ve had the privlege of shooting as well as recapping all that is in store for the future.
All the best,
Lisa
New Summit County Wedding Venue: Lodge by the Blue
Not long ago I got an email from a new wedding venue in Breck called Lodge by the Blue. They’re a lodge that’s been there for a while and known for their onsite restaurant The Myla Rose, but is just getting started taking advantage of their great location (unobstructed views on the mighty 14er Quandary Peak) and beginning to offer weddings. The good people there wanted to throw a styled shoot to show off the property and asked me to photograph. Of course, I was pumped to help them get on the map, plus, I’m always into new venues that are a stones throw from my house in Silverthorne! #SummitCountyWeddingsRock!
So along with the help of the talented Petal & Bean, Majestic Mountain Beauty, and Wendie Bass we got to work and had a fabulous afternoon. That day it decided to snow a BUNCH so we had “fun” dashing inside and out according to Mother Nature’s will. I still think my favorite photos of the day are of our cute couple getting absolutely PLASTERED by a massive snow squall that came out of nowhere (scroll down to see)!
It was all great fun and I can’t wait to see wedding season kick off at this new venue in the fabulous Breckenridge! Check out the photos below and leave some love in the comments.
Summer & Tim's Oatlands Historic House & Gardens, Leesburg, Virginia Wedding
Here’s a little throwback post from my time in living in DC. I would always love photographing at Oatlands and this wedding was no exception.
For Summer and Tim’s wedding, the theme was “You Give Me Butterflies”. Butterflies were everywhere and it was gorgeous! Just wait until you see Summer’s custom created dress that was just FILLED with butterflies! (Seriously, my jaw dropped and it took me a good 10 minutes to pick it up off the floor after seeing this dress.) The couple exchanged heartfelt vows in the gardens before joining their guests for a truly romantic night of dinner and mingling under the canopy of historic trees and starlight.
