Maroon Bells Engagement Adventure with Ashley & Jason

When Ashley and Jason first reached out about engagement photos, we got on well right away. As we chatted through the options I offer, their eyes lit up at the mention of an adventure session and I knew we were going to have a blast together. They were fully ready to embrace this exciting chapter in their lives and wanted to celebrate it in a big way. We landed on one of Colorado’s most iconic and breathtaking backdrops: Maroon Bells, just outside of Aspen.

The Bells are a special place—rugged and majestic, but also part of a delicate alpine ecosystem. To help protect the area, access is mostly managed via shuttle buses, and private vehicles are only allowed during limited hours. We planned accordingly and were careful to stick to designated trails and permitted areas throughout the session. Thanks to some creative camera tricks and angles, we made it look like we were deep in untouched wilderness while still honoring Leave No Trace principles. It was the perfect blend of environmental respect and stunning imagery.

We spent several hours exploring the area, laughing, and capturing the genuine joy and connection between Ashley and Jason. Their love for each other—and their excitement for what’s ahead—shone through in every single frame.
