An Intimate Colorado Elopement with Mountain Views & Heartfelt Moments

Brandi & Allen reached out about their elopement with a vision that instantly clicked with me. They had discovered a special spot—what they called their “heart trail”—on a previous trip to Colorado and wanted to return there to say their vows.

As we planned together, we realized the full trail was a bit too challenging for their family, especially at altitude. So, we found a beautiful nearby location that was much more accessible but still close to their original dream. The trailhead first look was sweet and full of excitement—like two kids on an adventure.

Wearing hiking boots, they led their guests along a gentle path to a scenic overlook. The ceremony spot, perched on a small hill above a lake and backed by a dramatic mountain wall, felt incredibly peaceful and private.

After the vows, we soaked in the views and captured portraits that reflected both the rugged beauty of Colorado and their deep connection. The lighting and emotion of the day lent themselves perfectly to black and white imagery—something I’m always drawn to from my days shooting film. I absolutely love how these elopement photos turned out.
