As I sit at my desk creating this post I’m looking outside at our latest snow storm and temps in the single digits. Don’t get me wrong, I love living in a winter wonderland, but sometimes, just sometimes a girl needs to thaw out a little. So I decided to share with you David and Caroline’s family photos from a beautiful late summer day last season!
David and Caroline wrote to me about scheduling family photos before their family’s annual summer trip to Summit County. Typically, more of my family photos happen on winter break but I was excited at the opportunity to capture some of Summit’s summer beauty with this extended family who loves the area so much. We had great fun roaming around some of my favorite spots in Frisco and creating oodles of portrait combinations for them. They even ordered a beautiful family album as a keepsake for the year! (Such a great idea!) I like to photograph at the end of the day so that my clients get a variety of “moods” from the photos. From bright and colorful full sun to that warm gold as the sun sets, to all the beautiful and subtle tones of the sky after the sun dips below the mountains and the horizon.
If you’re interested in family photos during your next vacation to these amazing Colorado rockies, give me a shout!
Lorin and Craig's Summit County Colorado Wedding
Well if Lorin & Craig’s wedding isn’t to be filed under “classic Summit county Colorado weddings” I don’t know what is!
Lorin & Craig came to me this summer to help with their fall wedding in the mountains. They had the Silverthorne Pavilion reserved for their reception but they wanted the ceremony to be outside among the mountains. We took an afternoon and I showed them some spots that would work for the amount of guests, some of their guests’ mobility considerations, as well as a spot that delivered on views for days.
The day started out blue bird gorgeous at their AirBnB in Silverthorne that had stunning views of Buffalo Mountain and Red Peak (and my house, lol)! After a (happy) tearful first look with her dad, Lorin and I headed to Frisco where the ceremony was to take place on the shores of Lake Dillon.
The show stealer for the day was Ziggy, Lorin & Craig’s totally adorable dog who served as their ring bearer. Ziggy was a gentleman (albeit an enthusiastic gentleman) who delivered the rings safely down the aisle via his handsome bow tie collar so that his humans could seal their heartfelt vows lead by Lorin’s brother.
After the ceremony we celebrated with some awesome photos complete with a stunning fall backdrop before heading to the Silverthorne Pavilion to party. Check out their photos below and leave them some love in the comments.
Cheers!
